Odigitria is more than a simple brand it means talking about the Sicilian land through one of
its most ancient symbol: la mantiglia.
The name is inspired by the patron of sicily, the Madonna odigitria portrayed through the centuries from the iconoclasta period.
From a research of the traditions the desire is born to talk about the trinacria through a timeless item of clothing.
The island, conquered and seduced by the many cultures, succeeds to make theirs some peculiarities left in hereditary from dominations that have alternated in decades: Greeks, Phoenicians, Arabs, Normans, Swedish and Spanish, and precisely these last have mostly inspired this collection. In the XIII century the Spanish imported the ‘mantiglia’ large shawl hand made, used by the woman who worked in the country side or utilized for religious ceremonies in the form of an elegant veil.
Revisiting in modern interpretation the mantiglia, a sought after fashion line is born, for those who cannot give up eleganze.
